Counselling was a career that I had been considering for some time as I felt that I had a good mixture of skills and life experience to bring to the profession. Having come from a background of teaching and training, I found some of the most rewarding aspects of my work was having the opportunity to work one to one with people, building effective working relationships and supporting them in developing their skills and experience.
Alongside and prior to my counselling training, I worked in community mental health with Mind. This was a really rewarding role in which I worked alongside people living with mental health issues.
I have also worked as a counsellor at the Margaret Jackson Centre in Exeter. This is a great organisation and I was delighted to work with them.
Since re-locating to South Devon in 2015, I am enjoying being in private practice in Kingsbridge and Totnes. Aside from counselling, I am often outdoors enjoying the beautiful Devon countryside. I enjoy walking, cycling, swimming and music.
